This surgery corrects the congenital fissure of the palate. The ideal age for correcting it is approximately at one and a half years of age, before the child starts articulating words. It must be complemented with phoniatrical and dental treatment to enable the patient to speak correctly and provide a correct occlusion of the maxillaries.
