Wednesday, 17 June 2009 – for the last two decades, during which he has performed buttocks plastic surgery, Cesar Morillas MD witnessed the later complications his patients had as drawbacks of the technique used: implantation of prostheses and fat injection. So, he designed new longer-lasting devices that cause no discomfort.

“The former method used injection of fat that was reabsorbed by the body two years later, causing pain to the patient, especially during physical strain”, Morillas explained. Also, the old prosthesis –the specialist added- do not give a natural aspect to the buttocks.

“Focusing on that need, I invented the bilobulated prosthesis (with two separations) which is placed under the deep gluteal muscle to prevent it from broadening for any reason”, he stated.

El doctor Morillas fue invitado por la Universidad de Yale, en EE.UU., para dictar una conferencia sobre la creación de sus novedosas prótesis, además de compartir las técnicas para colocarlas adecuadamente.

Cesar Morillas MD was invited by Yale University as speaker on the creation of his innovative prosthesis and also shared the correct implantation technique. “Until not long ago, saline solution was used, but it cannot be placed in the buttocks because this area of the body is subject to numerous abrupt movements, that is why the presentation I gave about this technique was considered innovative”, he commented.

NOT ONLY AESTHETICS

The doctor stated that this type of surgery is not only useful for satisfying the desire of improving physical appearance. “They are also performed in patients who have lost tissue due to a burn”, he explained.

He highlighted that the main purpose of the surgery is to contribute to improving the patients’ self esteem. “There are people who need to undergo surgery for other reasons (such as severe burns or bites) in order to live a normal life. For example, we are now treating a boy who needs a nose reconstruction because he was bitten by a dog”, he said.
