Peruvian makes a presentation on plastic surgery in Yale University

Today, Omar Rodriguez, president of the city council, introduced renowned Peruvian plastic surgeon Cesar Morillas MD during a press conference, due to his participation in a conference on his specialty at Yale University. Morillas MD, who runs Clinica Morillas in Peru (www.clinicamorillas.com.pe), was invited by Yale to make a presentation about aesthetic implants in calves and buttocks.

Leading work
“Morillas MD is considered a leader in implants in Latin America. “We started implants in calves and buttocks almost 21 years ago”, he commented.
Morillas became well-known along his prolonged career, which includes numerous surgeries, studies, investigations and scientific and medical contribution in the last years.
The current implants performed at Clinica Morillas are 100% safe for the patient, unlike the former that affected the sciatic nerve, even after some time the patient required fat injections to maintain an adequate shape.

New technique
The current oval-shaped prostheses have worked perfectly well in gluteus implants. Initially, they were placed under the skin, which showed when the muscle contracted and the implant looked artificial.
Later, the prostheses were placed between the muscles. This is called the intramuscular technique, and it can cause bleeding due to muscular efforts the patient is subject to.
“We inserted the implant under the muscle, which offers a total guarantee” Morillas said, “surgery is hemorrhage” and is safer. “The prosthesis used is not rejected by the body; every prosthesis causes a capsular contraction, which is the natural reaction of the organism” the doctor continued. It is a strange body in the organism, which accepts the prosthesis but isolates it within it” the aesthetic surgeon explained.

Personal contribution
After various implants of the oval-shaped prostheses available in the market, Morillas MD noticed a void that had to be filled with fat was formed, which resulted more obvious in patients over 40 years old.
This area filled with the patient’s own fat disappeared after one or two years, forcing the patient to undergo another surgery to level the void.
Morillas MD designed a new bilobulated prosthesis that perfectly fills this void with no need for additional surgery as required when using the oval-shaped implants.

Against Breast Cancer
Morillas MD shared a very little-known revelation about the belief that was provoked years ago by breast implants in women.
Some years ago in USA a woman who had breast implants died of breast cancer. This was a coincidence that motivated the belief that the implant was the cause. This provoked a series of investigations on the subject and aesthetic surgery in that country stopped.

Many years and scientific studies later, the exact opposite has been proved: breast implants prevent breast cancer, because of which millions of women have died and thousands are being treated.
